Woaaah, it has been crazy lately! I've been doing a lot of dorm shopping (and I'm basically done!), and prepping for White Linen Night this Saturday- which is basically the biggest annual party in the Heights with lots of vintage/handicraft/music vendors. So if you are in the area make sure to stop by, and say hi! I will be vending in front of Replay on 19th Street with my sister, who will be selling her homemade truffles and macaroons (and they are seriously the best)! Besides that I've been pretty chill. I got to see a live performance of Hairspray at a local theatre. It wasn't the best performance (I'm a huge critic, but it's only because I really love Hairspray okay), but it was still so fun to see with my mom and old theatre director! Other than that, I've been a slug catching up on all the movies and shows in my list on netflix. Although I haven't been too busy, I have been so exhausted due to the heat! Like, I'm pretty sure the sun is sucking my will to live. Anyways, below is just a slew of inspiration lately~

This playlist actually took me a while to make. I wanted it to have a leaving home/new chapter exciting kind of vibe, and I hope everyone who listens to it gets the same feeling it gives me. I actually battled with a title for over a week for this, too. I decided to keep in vague and simple with just "part two."

I've been totally obsessed with Girl With the Flower's new crossover collection with Candies (my birthday is next month if ya wanna get me anything just sayin).

 At orientation I got my photo taken for Texas State's fashion blog!! And I haven't even started classes yet [shocked emoji x100].

I have an urge deep inside, and I have to dye my hair again! I was thinking something like this, but I really, really want bubblegum pink all over. My plan is if I get enough birthday money I will get it done, and if I don't- it wasn't meant to be [sitcom "awwww" track].

The perfect summer vibes that make you cry, because you don't live in a world like American Graffiti.

sea of plastic spaghetti

About a week ago my sister and I went to MFAH to see Je t'aime, Je t'aime, and also check out one of their coolest installations ever. Although the movie actually really sucked (the trailer made it seem AMAZING), the installation made up for it. I felt like i was in a sea of plastic spaghetti. Oooh, we also had an amazing dinner at Soma Sushi, which consisted of spicy ramen, sea urchin, and the most amazing sushi roll everrrrr (the creamy mermaid). It was a really great restaurant, and reminded me of a place that would be shot in Kill Bill. 

After all of that we headed over to The Place Upstairs (same owners as Replay on 19th). If you've ever seen the show Oddities, it's a bit like that. A small shop filled with magical, sometimes disturbing, treasures of the past. The rest of the night was filled with small talk with other interesting customers, vintage taxidermy, and just all together great vibes. The only thing that really bit the dust was the traffic. We knew before we left the house that the Beyoncè concert was the same night as our outing. But what we didn't realize was that almost all of Houston (the fourth biggest city in America) attended the concert. It took us a whole extra hour to get home, but overall it was worth it.

I just really love taxidermy and animal skins, okay?

They had sooo many amazing purses. There was even one from the late 1800's!

The past three days I have been in San Marcos for new student orientation at Texas State. Oh boy, was I in for a treat. In two days I got locked out of my dorm room, ate gluten free pizza at midnight while talking about Wes Anderson movies (and also waited an hour for it), almost froze to death, watched Joseph Gordon Levitt's lip synch battle with Jimmy Fallon, listened to a bunch of lectures about financial and study aids, and a bunch of other ~important~ college stuff, and registered for my classes (which includes a philosophy class about America in the 1960's!). While I was there I slowly, but surely realized how much of a change this is going to be for me. I've always done so much stuff with my parents and close friends, so I know that's going to be the hardest thing to adjust to. All the other new things headed my way will be for the best, though. Now I'm just stressing myself out because I'm not sure what I want to bring with me to my temporary new home. It's all sort of crazy and hella stressful right now, but I know it'll all work out! Orientation just made me angry, because I'm just ready to attend this school and live in San Marcos already! There's also a slight possibility I might get two jobs (one at a record store and the other at a vintage clothing shop)!  AHHHHHHH!!! I hope you all are screaming out of joy with me!

The LBJ museum (which we didn't get to go in because it was closed) that's only a few blocks away from campus! Next time I'm there I will make sure to take photos of the whole downtown area, because it is soooo cute- minus all the construction.

My mom and I ate here the first night, and it was really great (almost as great as the pun)! I had the peking duck in steamed buns, and it was equivalent to heaven on earth. 

Other than that not much is new. I've been working a lot, and hanging out with Cass, and listening to records (I've recently found some gems I'll be sharing with you crazy kids soon!), stressing over money, and all the other usual stuff. a dream come true

I made it back alive! I actually got back from Europe Saturday night, but I have been busy catching up, working, and other boring things no one cares about (even me to some extent). That being said, I finally got around to editing a few photos on took on the trip. I have quite a bit more that I will (hopefully) eventually add. Just for future reading reference, I went with a tour group to five different countries; England, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Germany (and technically Austria for three hours). I hardly took any photos, because there were so many things I saw that were too beautiful to photograph. They just wouldn't have been the same if that makes any sense. I tried to snap at least one photo in each country, though. Luckily, I have quite a bit on Instagram (and I'll probably add more soon).

London, England. Ever since I was 12 years old, I had always dreamed of coming to London. I was absolutely engulfed in the band Queen, and wanted everything they had. Along with Queen, I was obsessed with the whole 60's scene (music, fashion, etc.), and still sort of am. That being said, being in my dream city was totally surreal. I loved everything about it (minus how expensive things were). My inner teener-bopper came out when I noticed all the little flats looked just like the Beatles' in their hit movie, Help!, and we stayed in Kensington, right down the street where Freddie Mercury used to live. Not only did I get to see one of my favorite plays, The 39 Steps, I got to have bubble tea in Chinatown, meet up with L.M. and her boyfriend, shop in Camden town, and of course, much more. The only complaint I have was the small amount of time I got to be here. There was all sorts of mix-ups the first day with the group and guide, so I basically had only one day to see London.

 
Paris, France. I thought I loved London, but then we got to Paris. That city left me speechless and in tears. I would seriously mutter, "holy shit" almost every hour, because it was absolutely perfect. I've always admired France due to Jean Luc-Godard, and being in this famous city, I felt just like Anna Karina in one of his 1960's wonder films. I hardly took photos while I was there, because I had a hard time believing I was actually there. I was so in awe, I hardly even bought anything, too! I only bought gelato, escargot (10/10 it is so yummy!), and a Batman comic- in French!!! While I was there I also got to practice my French! I don't know much, but what I did know, I made sure to use. The second day in Paris I ordered a crêpe completely in French- I was very proud of myself. We passed the fashion museum and I was soooooooo devastated that we didn't have time to go. COULD YOU IMAGINE??? It would be like Heaven on Earth. I did get to go to the War Museum, Napoleon's tomb, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower (pictured with my Mick Jagger doll above)and the Louvre (I actually didn't like the Louvre out of everything else I visited. I felt like it was very pretentious...). I'm still in awe over that city, and I cannot wait to go back! We also got to stop in Beaune, which is the cutest, little Southern French town. Wine country and AMAZING food for miles~ *looks into the distant and sighs due to the pain in my heart from missing this country*

 Lucerne, Switzerland. Have you ever wanted to live in Wes Anderson's film, The Grand Budapest Hotel? Well, believe it or not, you can- if you live in Switzerland. Although everything is pretty expensive it is worth it 100%. It is seriously the cutest, little country in the whole world. When I was in Lucerne we went to Mount Pilatus, where I almost climbed to the top of  the mountain in a hail storm (I haven't mentioned this earlier, but throughout this trip I really stepped out of my comfort zone)!

The only picture I took in Liechtenstein, the smallest, richest country ever! Overall, this whole trip was a dream come true.
